A-dec ® Century ll Control Block
Choosing the Right Stem

by Jim Wisniewski
RPI Product Development

An RPI Tech Help document.

When replacing the A-dec Century II control block stem for non-retraction (i.e. no saliva draw-back into the handpiece and handpiece tub-ing) use the new style stem (RPI Part #ADS123).

This new style stem also has a smaller top for easier replacement. (When using this stem, remind the operator that there will be a three second delay while the water drips before shut-down.)

ADS123 New Style Stem

When replacing the A-dec Century II control block stem for retraction (i.e. saliva draw-back into the handpiece and handpiece tubing) use the old style stem (RPI Part #ADS005). (Using this stem, the operator does not have the three second wait before shut-down.)
